This week Under the Comic Covers gleefully returns to covering two old favorites and one new addition to the regular roster. We begin our meal with Revival #27... dark and brooding as all fine rural noirs should be. Next up we delight at the chef's new recipe, Eric Stephenson and Simon Gane's dish of dissatisfaction and violence, They're Not Like Us #2... and titilate your taste buds with a lovely dessert of Sex Criminals #10: Alone Together. Of course, no fine dining experience would be complete without something with which to wash the delectables down... and for that we answer your letters and indulge in our weekly Top of the Stack. This week, we serve Powers by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming and Star Trek Planet of the Apes by Tipton, Tipton, and Scott. Bon appetit! Chapters

This week Under the Comic Covers introduces two new titles... and although we don't bring you current with either, we go over the first volumes of both Jason Aaron and Jason Latour's Southern Bastards: Here Was a Man and Keiron Gillen and Jaime McKelvie's The Wicked + The Divine: The Faust Act. If you have not read either of these titles, run... don't walk... but seriously, run to whatever outlet you choose, but read these books. You will not be disappointed. We don't have any listener mail to respond to this week... we are assuming you were shocked to hear we were covering two different books and simply didn't have the opportunity to catch up on two volumes with such short notice, but we respond to a couple of Facebook responses for The Wicked + The Divine and talk about a new Image Comics #1 in Top of the Stack. This week we discuss Reyn, the new fantasy adventure comic by Kel Symons and Nate Stockman... if you like monster killing action and farmers' daughters with large breasts, then you won't want to miss this book. This week Under the Comic Covers returns to its normally scheduled programming and brings you not one... not two... but three great titles to choose from (or don't make a choice at all and listen to the whole enchilada). First we discuss The Walking Dead #136: Found, where zombies take a back seat to politics and teenagers having a chat... followed by Copperhead #5 with what may be one of the most satisfying ends to an arc... and we wrap things up with a chat about Rat Queens Braga Special #1, where we simply talk about what a joy this book really is. Of course that doesn't mean we've ignored our listener mail... that's still there, and our Top of the Stack spotlights BOOM Studio's Memetic by James Tynion IV & Eryk Donovan and Abstract Studio's SIP Kids by Terry Moore. All that plus so much more for the low low price of absolutely nothing at all! Hope you all enjoy. Chapters

Under the Comic Covers takes a field trip this week as we both attended Image Expo 2015 in the heart of San Francisco and report back to you fresh off the heels of Mr. Blahg kissing the forehead of Chip Zdarsky! We discuss many of the new announcements, our take away from the Expo, and follow all of that excitment with a great discussion of Joshua Williamson and Mike Henderson's Nailbiter #9. Due to the "on the road" nature of this episode we keep things trim with no letters and no Top of the Stack, but things will get back to normal next week. Chapters

Under the Comic Covers would like to wish all of our listeners a very Happy New Year, and with the new year comes a new episode! See that, it should be a happier new year already. This week, we ring in 2015 with what may very well be our favorite issue of Black Science in it's eleven issue run. Revival #26 makes us care a bit for our favorite white trash Sherlock, and in our Top of the Stack segment we discuss the latest book from Eric Stephenson and Simon Gane, They're Not Like Us. I wish I could say we answer some listener mail, but with the holidays and us recording at wonky times... c'est la vie. There is always next week... and we will be here waiting for you in the future.
